Standing in the Presence of the King

Today's verse is Matthew 18:20 "For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”

Tonight as I was praying a thought came to me. How many times do we enter God's presence but never realize?

The verse says two or three. Two or three Christians in one place and God is in their midst. He is there! I got this picture of two people talking and Jesus standing on the outside of the group waiting to be invited in.

Our simple gathering together draws him to us and yet we ignore him. This is not intentional. But what if we were sensitive? What if we prayed that God would help us to see Him? What if we asked to be drawn in when He is near? What could He do if we were open?

I think our lives would change dramatically.

So Lord help me to be sensitive to when you show up. Help me to see your fingers at work in my life. I need you. You are so faithful. I love you. Amen.
