Tell ~ Explain ~ Inspire

I am at a Teaching Children Effectively course today! I am so happy to be able to be a part of teaching it for the next couple of weekends. One of the quotes that was used in a session was:

A mediocre teacher tells
A good teacher explains
An excellent teacher inspires

It just struck me again, like it always does when I hear this, I want to be a teacher that inspires. Even while I teach in this course, I want to inspire people to follow the Lord and reach children with the Gospel.  Whether or not you teach in a class, you are a teacher, you influence the people around you. You are a teacher. The little ones who look up to you to be an example, your peers who say "They're a Christian", and your family members all look to you, you are teaching them with the things that you say and do. What kind of teacher are you? Do you simply tell them what they should do? Do you explain why they should do it? Or do you inspire them to live like you by the way you act? I know I don't always inspire people, I know that sometimes I don't explain, I just tell them and expect them to get it. But I don't want to be like that anymore! I want to inspire people. Lord willing, that is what I am going to do!
